About Suhita

My body of work varies widely in subject, but it all ties back to a single, underlying aim: to see and capture the world around me as a traveller would, viewing both the everyday and the exotic with fresh eyes. I work primarily in watercolor, but I add in and play with many other mediums in my practice.

I am a visual storyteller, an urban sketcher, and a teacher. I was born in India, and now live in San Jose, California and I call both countries home.

For monthly sketching tips, and first dibs at my workshops, sign up for my no-spam, once-a-month newsletter on substack. (You do not have to join substack to do this)

I am an international correspondent with the non-profit Urban Sketchers and run a popular Etsy store where I sell my artwork. I’ve been featured in numerous books and magazines and write a regular column on urban sketching for Artists Magazine.
