It’s November

It’s November, which is the start of nosebleed season at my house. I promise not to post a sketch of the humidifier every day, but it will be running, to keep my kid from having too many nosebleeds…

I was inspired by this post from Koosje Koene when I sketched this page. And while she painted her the grid of yellow shapes on first, and then drew in it, I had the grid in mind but painted those blue shapes after I did the drawings. I think I’ll be working with a lot more of these grid pages in the near future. They’re fun, and they let me add little bits of my day to a page in a no-pressure way.

  1. Nice painting, a self portrait I presume, I really like how you captured the dehumidifier and the plug. You are always amazing at drawing people. Also the blue light in this painting creates a really nice atmosphere.
