It is now the start of berry and stone fruit season at the farmers’ market so I will be back more frequently than ever.
In this first piece I drew the scene before me as a narrow band of activity, sandwiched between the canopy of tents above and the pails of flowers below.

And this next one was done very quickly later in the week, just as the market was packing up for the day. All I used is a Sailor Fude pen and a Blackwing pencil.

Much as I love maximalist mixed-media work, I like working with very little every once in a while, just to remind myself that it doesn’t take a lot to tell a story.

Nice drawings of the market, I really like the drawing at the top. The flowers (or vegetables) really add for interesting pops of colour.
