Animals, Near and Far

Here’s Samson the cat, who lives in my home and is often around for me to draw. He’s a contortionist and it’s often hard to understand the pretzel-like forms he presents.

But to draw animals I’m less familiar with, I visited Hidden Villa with Nina. (check her sketches from the day here). We expected to see lots of baby animals but didn’t. Still, the pigs were so much fun to sketch.

Next up we tried drawing these goats. Their shapes and proportions were pretty confounding.

This goat really liked nibbling on the corner of my book while I sketched.

Next,we sketched the chickens for a short bit.

And ended our morning with a vista with no animal in sight.

  1. Nice sketches, lol, the goat nibbling at your sketchbook. I really like your sketches of the pigs, and the chickens.
