Embrace the Pace: Cooking

Yet another post in a series of “things that move too quickly to capture”. Where there are goodies being made, there’s me, sketchbook in hand. Unlike the skaters in my last post in this series, who zooted around a rink, these models are going nowhere while they’re mixing and folding. But there are lots of changing hand gestures in the process.

So I chose to work with a different pen or colored pencil for every new fragment of a gesture I captured.

While no single sketch is a complete pose, they come together to create a pretty good story of the action.

Well, sometimes. As always, I started on a bunch of sketches, many of which I left half-finished.

See Post 1 and Post 2 in this series of “Embrace the Pace” posts.

ps: a big thank you to those of you who have used the Buy Me a Coffee button on the right side of this blog to send in a donation and a note of appreciation. I’ve loved sharing my sketching adventures, big and small, on this blog for over 12 years and will continue to do so, and it is lovely to know you enjoy them too.
