Shibari with Sketcherei

Following up on Sketcherei‘s fast-paced burlesque session was this Shibari session.

I was fascinated by beautiful poses and knot-tying and how much I was aware during the session of the weight and strength of the body when it was suspended.

I worked with simple tools for these: Mostly just ink and crayons. With a wee bit of watercolor added with a water brush on some sketches.

  1. Incredible dancers? Athletes? Performers! And it’s amazing how you’ve captured their movements!

Wow,…..what extraordinary poses and sketches, Suhita! I have enough trouble trying to sketch people in normal poses! Ha. Next month I am visiting a friend in Albuquerque who is a very good artist and now into Urban Sketching. We are going to spend a day in Santa Fe sitting in the Plaza sketching and painting all the super interesting subjects. Followed, of course, by some great Mexican food!
