On Location workshop this Fall
Sketching Santa Fe
• September 29, 30 and October 1, 2021
• In Santa Fe, New Mexico

About this workshop:
Come spend three days urban sketching in downtown Santa Fe with me. Over three days, we will collect a sketchbook filled with the colors and vistas of Santa Fe.
There will be multiple demos and lots of opportunities to sketch and discuss concepts covering drawing architecture, people and vignettes in vibrantly colored sketches.
We’ll capture charming little corners around town, collecting a palette of Santa Fe’s colors and textures. We’ll sketch the wonderful adobe buildings of the city, and we’ll capture the people and energy of Santa Fe’s downtown district. Food, Foliage, People, Buildings and the Art of this lively downtown will all come together in our sketchbooks.

I will not only demo each day, but will also sketch alongside you and be there to help problem-solve and pull together your work into interestingly designed spreads in your travel sketchbook. We will study compositional techniques and look at multiple ways to problem-solve in our sketches.
Each day will begin with a morning session. We will break for lunch, then come back for an afternoon session. We will meet on location to start our day, and do all our sketching on location. You will be responsible for your own accommodation and meals. Santa Fe has lots of options for both food and lodging across a wide price range.

At the end of three days you will have sketchbook spreads that capture the spirit of Santa Fe reflected across all that you capture.
Note: In light of making everyone in the workshop feel safe , we will not only adhere by covid safety regulations that are in place when we are in Santa Fe, I will also ask that you submit either proof of being fully vaccinated or wear a mask during the workshop.

Would love to join this workshop in a wonderful town but have already a reunion in Seattle that same weekend. I need at least six months advance notice for travel opportunities. So sorry to miss.
