Shape and Pattern

I find it super relaxing to draw like this: start somewhere, and draw out from there, looking at just shape and edges, building in a flat, pattern-like form.

A cup of chai, a pencil and the backyard orange tree. In a Seabright of Brighton sketchbook.

It’s a no-place-to-go, no-need-to-finish kinda drawing mode that always leaves me feeling happy.
Have a lovely weekend. If you live on the west Coast where we’re being hit by a heatwave just now, stay cool!

Living in North Wales.U.K I can’t imagine having something so exotic in my back garden! I know what you mean by having something like that on the go, something you can just pick up a pencil and add some shading etc.p
