A Tutorial, a Giveaway and Fall Colors

This sketch of a jeep in my neighborhood was done last week, just as the colors started to turn. The yellow jeep and foliage paired up so well. I wanted to do a step-by-step demo for Doodlewash so I shot the sketch in stages.

GO here to read the whole piece.

This is based on a step-by-step exercise out of my new book and Doodlewash is also doing a giveaway of a signed copy of the book that you can enter here.

It’s finally fall and I’m enjoying the colors. Here’s a sketch of a street with a tree and some cars. Two inks, gouache and some graphite pencil are what I used here.

I’m hoping fall stretches out, holds on to some of the colors and the sunshine for a few more weeks so I can get my fill of all these gorgeous warm colors before I pull out my Payne’s Grey for my winter palette.
