Hope and Flowers

I painted these flowers on November 4th. A day I felt unsure of what came next. I was worried, but still hopeful.

Here are a couple of detailed views so you can take a closer look at the piece.

I could’ve painted just about anything that day: flowers, cars, people, the mess on my desk… Whatever the subject, I would have painted out how I felt. But it sure did help to have something beautiful to paint.

If you are wondering where I got these gorgeous flowers, they are courtesy of @tincanstudios.

I can only echo what has been said. These flowers are so beautiful. Years ago when I visited Venice in the winter, a friend told me, “Venice is so beautiful it will break your heart. I thought of this when I saw your painting. It reflects my feelings in these hope-filled, crazy-making days.
