Inktober on my Desk

It’s easy to be in Inktober mode when pen and ink is a medium you love and use a lot all year round anyways.

Here are two recent Inktober-on-my-desk sketches.

Did you Inktober this year? Did you try anything new? Or see yourself become more comfortable or fluid with the medium?

I played around a fair bit with this technique that uses pen, ink, spray bottle with water, and white gouache.

I tried it for a few days, but it made me think that it would be better to do weekly challenges, although I know i need to sketch more. Painting is more therapeutic for me, and if I only have a little time on a given day, I reach for a paintbrush before a pencil or pen.

I do love your style with this inkwork, as it’s very painterly!

You’re recent ink sketches really have inspired me lately and for the past week I’ve been getting really mess (and my floor!) with ink, a dip pen, paintbrush and a spray bottle… and I’ve honestly never had as much fun with my art as I have this week! Thanks for inspiring me and bringing such joy to my sketching time!
