Day 55 at Home: The Week Ahead

Here are some fun things I am looking forward to in the week ahead.

Tuesday, May 12th: Car-Sketching on InstaLive with Shari Blaukopf
Join us as we attempt to synch up on InstaLive and sketch from our cars on Tuesday, May 12th: 11am Pacific Time or 2pm Montreal Time:
You can catch us on my InstaLive or watch the video on my stories for 24 hours after that.

Friday, May 15th : Join me and Maria on Art Toolkit‘s Live stream as we chat and paint on toned paper. 11am Pacific Time
If you want to play along, check Art Toolkit’s instagram bio links for a reference to the image we will paint from, and bring along some toned or colored paper and fun supplies to experiment with.

My local art store and studio space, A Work of Heart has been doing online workshops, curbside deliveries or even mailing out supplies. In these challenging times, a lot of their workshops are on a donation basis and on a sliding scale. I’ve teamed up with the owner, Andrea, to do a paint-along session where we’ll paint the gorgeous California Poppies that are in bloom everywhere right now.
You can draw from the references provided or even trace from a line drawing I provide and then paint along. Check class details and sign up here, Andrea can also help you customize a kit of supplies if you need them and we can paint together on May 20th.

Paul Wang and I are having a blast with our Sketching Play/Lab series, with 3 playground sessions every week. If you’d like to attend, get on our mailing list by emailing us at SPlayLab@gmail.com. Our current session, Taking a Line for a Walk runs one more week, with all sessions completely filled in. But we will introduce a new session Free Your Line next…

Hi Suhita, Will the Poppy workshop be a class where students will paint along too and you will be able to provide feedback or will it be one way where we can see you, but you will not see us? Thanks! Lynn

  2. Lynn, yes, we all paint together and I will paint each part of the process and then you can. As long as you can show your piece to me, I can give feedback step by step.
    Does that help?
