My day began as it often does with a sketch of the kids at breakfast time. 43 days into sitting down with them to breakfast most days (instead of hurrying them through it for school and packing lunches while they eat) means I notice how the sun has moved, how it is much brighter and hotter now at breakfast time and how the spring is moving into the summer already here in San Jose.
Sometime in the afternoon, while working through the details of the Sketching Play/Lab I am running online with Paul Wang, this sketch of Walter the skull happened. When my mind starts to wander off from what I should be doing, a little sketch-break can help me feel refreshed and ready to handle the task at hand.
And I ended my day with a really relaxing InstaLive session with Paul Heaston where we both sketched our mess. For a few more hours, you can view that session on Paul’s Instagram stories.
