Coming up next week: One Week 100 People

What are you sketching next week? I know what I’m doing. It’s the #OneWeek100People2020 challenge.

I don’t have much of a plan, but I know that if I just stick to my coffee shop and draw faces and torsos all week, I’ll get bored. And my best shot of doing 20 people in about an hour a day is to be someplace with a lot of people.

I’m making a potential list. Where I actually sketch will depend on what my day ends up being like. This Farmer’s Market is on my list. (I’m lucky, we have one on a weekday in my neighborhood)
And there’s always the coffeeshop, the mall, wherever in my neighborhood the PG&E trucks are. (They’re always trimming trees, digging up streets, filling up the holes they dug…). My week also holds yet another school music concert, and if all else fails I will work from photos on my computer at the end of the day.

That’s about as much planning as I can do. What’s your game plan for #OneWeek100People2020 ? Joined the facebook group yet?

I hung out at the library this morning. Great for people who don’t move too fast but are not just staring at a phone (the commuters I usually sketch). Airport or train station is great if you like people actively but repetitively doing things. My dream would be a jazz concert or ballet rehearsal!

Hi Suhita, Let’s see what happens in the coming days as public places close. bob lauderbach Seattle, WA >

  3. Drawing people is really hard! Sometimes I spend hours just drawing 1 person. I want to make an attempt at drawing a crowded area!
