And the follow up post to Drawing People at Home.
Some sketches aren’t literally at home. They’re at the library, while we pick books for the week. 2 versions of this guy in a chair, so at peace with his book.
Both use watercolor, the one on the left also has some brushpen and white Posca marker lines on it.
Blvd. Coffee of Almaden is where I sketch regularly: right by home, an independent coffee shop, super friendly. Sitting at the bar gives me a view of the baristas at work. Two baristas, but three in my sketch? Yeah, the guy in the back features in two spots. He went back and forth a lot while I sketched, the guy making the coffee stayed near the machine. A photo is a snapshot of a fraction of a second, but my sketch is a capture of being there for a half hour.
Optometrist appointment. Waiting for the doctor to come in. Water-soluble colored pencil and pen. But I didn’t bother with the water.
great sketches

The more you sketch, then better, more eye appeal they become. Practice makes perfect.
