New Workshop: Magical Mexico City

Timed so it falls just before “Dia de los Muertos” this workshop in the beautiful historic center of Mexico City is a travel-sketching workshop designed to get you to capture the energy and excitement of the city. We’ll draw people, we’ll draw the fantastic cathedrals, we’ll draw in the flower markets and capture the energy and buildup to the celebrations for the Day of the Dead.

If you thought Mexico had color and energy, you should see it at this time of the year. If you always wanted to sketch in Mexico City but didn’t think you could do it on your own, you want to come along with us. Art Leap Adventures will take care of all of it for you, and I promise you’ll go home with a sketchbook full of vibrant, energy and color-filled sketches.

Here’s a 5-minute video from demonstrating gesture sketching, which we’ll have lots of chances to practice in Mexico City!

Join us for this culturally rich deep dive into the Centro Historico. We’ll stay in the heart of the Zocolo, near the stunning Metropolitan Cathedral  and we’ll discover some of it’s history and architecture as we create a travel sketchbook of the energetic and colorful cityscape around us. We’ll learn to sketch people and places. We’ll take the fear out of sketching people on the move, action-filled sketches and architecture. We’ll learn quick-capture techniques, so you’ll never complain about not having enough time to draw anything ever again. And we’ll discuss techniques for capturing vibrant color in your sketches. You‘ll go home knowing you’ve seen and sketched Mexico City’s Centro Historico like you never imagined.

Some topics covered in the Workshop:
– Sketching people, including people on the move
– Drawing architecture and places without getting bogged down with details
– Creating vibrantly colored sketches that capture the energy and color of a place
– Quick sketching techniques for all subjects ,so you never feel like you can’t sketch on your travels again.
