Another look at the coffee shop

Yet another coffee shop sketch. This time with loose watercolor figures going in first, and the line going in at leisure. coffee-shop_build_1a


Somedays things work out, and sometimes they’re just meh. But I can usually find something in a sketch that I like. Here’s it’s the lady with the backpack in the striped shirt.

Here’s some more loose, quick vignettes I did after that.


On a meh-day, I try to work small on more experimental work, mostly to think through ideas in my head. I’m not expecting it to all work out, but putting half-baked ideas to paper is a start…

  1. Nice to see a coffeeshop that sells coffee! Here in Holland I have one on the corner that I rather not enter! Love your loose sketches! I follow for years Rick Tulka, he made in the past every day a sketch from a person in Café select in Paris! a lot of artist have coffee as starting point I noticed! Thanks for sharing!
