Bar Mitzvah Party

That was one fun party. And I took my sketchbook along, ofcourse. But when you spend most of the evening dancing or eating, the sketches are quickly stolen moments when you decide to sit down for just a wee bit.

Brushpen works best for these: quick, gestural, and minimal.

The Hora, where the celebrator is picked up in a chair and everyone dances around him.

And the table decor. Can you tell the kid loves basketball?

And then all the teenagers get on the dance floor…

I came home and googled this song I keep hearing: it’s called ‘Watch Me( Whip/NaeNae)’.

Thanks very much for these beautiful paintings

  2. Somehow your people always seem to dance across the pages, no matter what they do, I love that!
