That exact Ultramarine Blue

I’ve never spent as long at a hair salon as I did today, which probably made it the worst day to forget to take along a pen or pencil. But I did take along my paints and a brush. And I borrowed a ballpoint pen to draw with.

So here’s a selfie, drawn looking in the mirror. Lots of action behind me that I could watch!

And more sketches while I waited.

2 hours later, blue highlights in my hair. I knew the color I wanted, Ultramarine Blue, so what did I do? I went to Jane Blundell’s site of course, found the image on the left (below) and showed it to my hair stylist. Thank you Jane Blundell, in any color situation, I know you have the answer!

What a great place to do some sketching, I would not have thought of it! You have captured all the salon action beautifully. By the way – is your stylist hairy or was that a slip of the key…?! 🙂

Great captures of a busy place–probably the first time the stylist had a color palette printout to work from—very cool.
