A little bit of this, a little bit of that…

All I have from the last week is a mish-mash of little sketches. While they don’t hold together cohesively, they’re a diary of my week: of what’s going on, my current interests, and stuff I’m working on.

I’m spending a lot of time in doctor’s offices with my daughter as she attends physical therapy sessions and gets splints made to fit her legs, to correct a problem with her walking. It’s amazing how much things have advanced: no more slow-drying and messy Plaster-of-Paris ,old-making: a quick wrap of what looks like fabric, but is actually fiberglass and 3 minutes later, there’s a cast… almost too quick to get a drawing done!

Mostly, though, there’s nothing that exciting happening. Still, there is atleast a plant in the waiting room that I can sketch.

Or, I can work on something I want to get better at: like drawing hands. My left hand makes a pretty good model, and I watch a lesson or two of this class ( http://craftsy.me/1MiAa04 ) at home and then use what I learn while I wait at appointments. I like the approach in this class because it starts with gestural drawing and then work it’s way to a more structured understanding from there.

What else did I draw this last week? The view from a hill near my home.

And a single piece in color: wires, on a grey and stormy day.
