Don’t know how it happened, but last week I found myself without a paintbrush in my bag. Paints, pens, water, sketchbook: yes. paintbrush: No. Oops. I wasn’t going to miss the opportunity to sketch, so fingerpainting it was.
Here are a couple a couple of my finger-painted sketches:
Quick little studies at my son’s soccer practice. It is fun to paint like Ed Emberley!
Sketching at In-N-Out Burger turned out to be perfect for finger-painting. You have to keep the colors pretty simple if you fingerpaint: no subtle shades, no wet-in-wet mixes. The basic yellow-red color scheme here worked well for that.
I had fun with these, and I noticed that people watching me paint were VERY amused to see me muck around my paints with my fingers.
This cracked me up! Bravo for not allowing circumstances to defeat you–and bravo on the paintings–they’re great!
I love your work…Updated the Brookly Bridge as my cover page on FB…:)…I do ink and watercolor too!!
