When you have 2 kids that play soccer, you end up with a LOT of soccer sketches: 2 practice sessions a week, 2 games a weekend, and after you’ve rushed like crazy and made it there just in time, there’s not much to do but sit on the sidelines, shout “Go Broncos!” and “Go Dynamites!” as often as you can, and sketch.
I got lucky here: a quick throw-in, right where I was sitting:
Isn’t it strange that the 2 kids in the foreground look so similar? That’s my son, Nishant. He was up in his little chair when I started out drawing, but quickly settled down in the grass, so I got to draw him twice.
I tend to draw the people on the sidelines more than the soccer players, but I’m going to try and capture more of the action. Trouble is, those 5 and 7 year olds move fast…
