The summer’s ending, so we’ll see how many more beach trips we squeeze in: this is Waddell beach, Just north of Santa Cruz. It was a blustery day, with lots of kite surfers.
And a tired Nishant, asleep in his carseat after a long, cold day at the beach.

Wow! I’m so glad I found you on EDM. Your blog is so inspiring. Your art is just incredible! My favorites are the cafe sketches – maybe because I love coffee and coffee shops so much
I’ll be visiting here again!
Deborah, if you think I sketch a lot of cafes, wait until it’s winter: when it gets cold I hat going outside and cafes is practically all I’ll sketch!
These are really wonderful – the landscape is beautiful and the drawing of Nishant is adorable! nancy
Fantastic watercolour, what sketchbook are you using?
I’m trying a few out: this one is belongs to a series called “Robert Bateman Recycled Sketch Books”. Nice paper for both sketching and light washes, though the horizontal format is limiting when you’r not doing landscapes…
Wonderful beach scene. I’m hoping to go to the beach this week – I can’t believe it didn’t occur to me to sketch while there. Your post inspired me.
I really like the coffee shop pieces – I get a good sense of the place through your artwork…and I want to go there!
Wow, beautiful! Your watercolor (?) painting amazes me! Fantastic choice of colors. I love all the little details (the people and paragliders…).
And the drawings of the coffee roaster thingy! Really great work!
Thank you, Yes watercolors: the little Windsor and Newton travel kits is what I use, though I found I use just a few of the set, so I might make me a custom color palette and see how that works…
I could look at your watercolors all day long! They are beautiful!
Lovely work!
I really love your sketches!
